Fadeaway Tattoo Removal Studio
We are a fully insured tattoo studio who have been checked by the local environmental health assessor. We trade from our studio in Scarborough by appointment only. Fully trained and qualified laser technicians.
How laser tattoo removal works
Why does the ink stay in your skin when you have a tattoo?
When you have a tattoo the particles of ink are too large for the body to destroy, so instead it encapsulates the particles of ink with a network of collagen fibres as the skin heals creating and there the tattoo remains.
How does the YAG laser work to remove it?
The laser emits a pulse of light that is preferentially absorbed into certain colours of ink. The light enters the skin at a speed that is too fast to heat the tissues (billionths of a second), instead, it produces a 'shock wave' effect and breaks up the ink particles into smaller pieces, the body then recognises these particles as something that shouldn’t be there and attacks it. The particles are then removed naturally via the body’s own elimination system (scavenger cells).
Can you treat all colours?
The short answer is no. We can’t do all colours there are 2 different spectrums on the laser; the 1064 nm which is an infrared light which is absorbed by black and blue inks. the 532 nm which is absorbed by red ink. It is possible to treat some other colours in the studio however it is unlikely they will be fully removed but would be faded enough for cover work.
The treatment process and results
With the nature of tattoo removal there is no guaranteed timescale for the removal of your tattoo. Everyone responds differently to the treatment and everyone’s immune system is different. This is why we offer a free consultation and patch test.
Costs
After initial free consultation and patch test treatments range from £15 to £45 depending on the size of the area being treated and the course duration.
